Eternal Sun, the Dutch specialist in solar module testing and characterization solutions, has acquired the key assets of the German company WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH. The acquisition was structured as an asset deal resulting in a newly founded subsidiary; WAVELABS Eternal Sun GmbH, based in Leipzig.

WAVELABS, recognized globally for its cutting-edge LED-based solar simulators for solar cell measurement, complements Eternal Sun’s expertise in testing systems for solar modules. The combined product portfolio represents an unparalleled industry offering as a full-spectrum provider of solar testing technology – from research and development to mass production – serving customers worldwide.

“With WAVELABS joining the Eternal Sun family, we can offer our customers an unmatched range of cell and module testing solutions,” said Florian van Rijn van Alkemade, CEO of Eternal Sun. “Both companies share a passion for precision, innovation, and service. Together, we will shape the future of solar quality assurance and accurate characterization.”

The new company, WAVELABS Eternal Sun GmbH, will continue operations at the Leipzig site with an outstanding team of experienced professionals across R&D, manufacturing, and sales. The WAVELABS and Eternal Sun brands will remain independent and visible in the market.

The acquisition was made possible following the recent investment by Bolster, a Dutch long-term investment firm, into Eternal Sun. The additional capital provided the financial foundation for this strategic transaction.

Eternal Sun’s acquisition of WAVELABS builds on the Dutch company’s track record of integrating complementary solar metrology providers. In 2016, Eternal Sun acquired and successfully integrated the testing division of Massachusetts-based Spire Corporation, revitalizing the business and achieving nearly a decade of strong, sustained growth for the combined operation.

The newly founded WAVELABS Eternal Sun GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Eternal Sun Group B.V., headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.

Eternal Sun welcomes Bolster Investment Partners as majority shareholder to push growth, technology development and further professionalization.
